Dying of the Light
It’s always a special moment when a song leaves the studio and heads out into the world, but this one feels particularly significant. Dying of the Light is one of the most personal and vulnerable pieces of music I’ve ever created. It deals with grief, loss, and the challenge of finding light in the darkest of times.
The song is part of my upcoming album, The Shadowmaker, and captures a deeply emotional space that’s both universal and uniquely mine. The lyrics reflect on the inevitability of losing loved ones—something none of us can avoid, no matter how fiercely we “rage” against it. The music mirrors that emotional complexity, with its haunting soundscapes, dragging beats, and thunderous basslines that contrast with radiant chords and sweeping strings. It’s a balance of despair and hope, capturing the full spectrum of what it means to grieve and to heal.
Writing and recording Dying of the Light was a cathartic experience for me, and I hope it resonates with those who hear it. Sometimes music speaks to emotions we don’t have the words for, and that’s what this track is all about—expressing the unspoken, the unresolved, and the deeply human.

The result is a stunning, dreamlike visual story that mirrors the song’s emotional journey—haunting, poignant, and deeply reflective.
Anyone who thinks that storytelling using AI tools is “easy” couldn’t be more wrong. These tools are just that—tools. The artistry comes in knowing how to combine them, refine them, and shape them into something meaningful. This video represents hours of conceptualizing, creating, and fine-tuning every detail to bring the narrative to life in a way that truly does justice to the song.
