ADDICTED TO LIES
Today, I’m thrilled to share my latest single, Addicted To Lies. This song is one of the most personal and thought-provoking tracks I’ve created, exploring themes that resonate deeply in today’s world.
At its core, Addicted To Lies is a reflection on the struggles of identity in a hyper-connected, digital age. It’s about the chase for authenticity when so much of our lives are curated and filtered. How do we stay true to ourselves in a world that often rewards illusions over reality?
“What was your name before the socials came, and you became a virtual lie?”
These lyrics are a challenge to look inward—to question what we’ve sacrificed in the pursuit of perfection or validation. It’s a track for anyone who’s ever felt the weight of imposter syndrome, the pull of digital highs, or the ache of feeling disconnected in an always-connected world.
Sonically, the track blends cinematic trip-hop with gritty industrial blues, creating a haunting, layered soundscape. It carries the raw emotion and intensity of influences like Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, and Portishead, while carving out its own unique space within The Shadowmaker project.
This is the fourth release from The Shadowmaker album, and as we approach the end of the year, I’ll be taking a short break over the Christmas period to focus on building the live show that premieres in Denver on 8th February. To make it easier to follow the progress of this release, I’ve created a Spotify playlist called This Is The Shadowmaker, which features all the music released so far as part of this project.
